1.No disclosure for third party marketing.  Sankhalpam will not rent or sell your personal information to third parties.

 2.Information you provide through the account creation and update process.  When you create an account on the Website, we collect basic information about you through the registration process – your name, email address, and a means to authenticate your account (for example, a password). You may also choose to provide additional information through the account creation and update process, such as the your address. If you choose to access the Website through your Facebook account, you are creating an account with Sankhalpam on the website and you grant Sankhalpam permission to access your basic Facebook information (including gender and birthday) and, with your express consent, to use other information about you from Facebook in accordance with the Facebook terms of use, and this Privacy Policy. You can review and update the account information you provide to Sankhalpam through the website by logging into your account on the Website. We collect any additional information you choose to provide us when you update your account on the Website.

 3.Information collected and displayed about the Donations that you have made.  Sankhalpam collects information on your donations individually (for example, amount of a donation, recipient of a donation) and in the aggregate (for example, number of donations and the distribution of those donations by program). If you have created an account on the website and have made a Donation through your account, Sankhalpam makes information on these Donations available to you on your private portfolio page on the Website. Sankhalpam will not disclose information on your personally identifiable Donations to any third party without your consent. 

 4.Information collected, displayed and used for other features on the Website.  As you use additional features on the Website or otherwise participate in the Program, we may collect any additional information you choose to provide in order to facilitate the operation of these features on the Website or your participation in the Program. For example:

 a.Comments and messages.  If you use interactive features on the Website to write a comment (for example, on a Contact Us or Volunteer form), Sankhalpam will collect your name and your comment for internal records. Sankhalpam will not disclose this information to any third party.

b.Integrated third party features.  If you use features on the Website that are integrated with third party websites or services (for example, Twitter and Facebook) to share information about your activity on the Website (for example, information about recently made Donation and whether you “like” Sankhalpam) through the third party website or service, Sankhalpam will share this information with the third party website or service and additional information, if any, that you choose to provide to Sankhalpam in order to use these features (for example, your username for the third party website or service). However, Sankhalpam reserves the right to withhold or withdraw information related to beneficiaries of your Donation to the extent necessary to protect the privacy of beneficiaries.

c.Donations.  Sankhalpam collects information on any donations you make to Sankhalpam (whether through the Website or offline) to communicate with you (for example, to provide donation confirmations) via your email address, physical address or through other means of contact that you have chosen to provide to Sankhalpam.

d.Applications.  If you submit an application to Sankhalpam (for example, to be a member, volunteer or field worker), we collect the information you submit (for example, name, phone number, resume, cover letter and position of interest) to assess the application and follow up with you on such submission.  Sankhalpam will not disclose this information to any third party.

5. Information from cookies and web beacons.  Cookies are small text files created by a website that store information on your computer, such as your preferences when visiting that website. Similar to many websites, if you have enabled cookies in your browser, Sankhalpam, independently and through enabled third party tools and programs, may collect certain technical information using cookies, such as the path of users to the Website, pages visited, originating IP address, browser type, browser language and the date and time of the user’s visit. This information helps Sankhalpam track trends and improve areas of the Website and Program, and are common analytics used by most websites. If you have disabled cookies, the Website may not work as it is intended because Sankhalpam uses cookies when you sign in to keep track of your personal session. 

6.Electronic communications.  From time to time you may receive disclosures, notices, documents and information based on your account information, status or activity (collectively, “Communications”) from Sankhalpam (for example, confirmations of Donations you have made, confirmation receipts for donations you have made, statements,, confirmation of email address or password changes, or customer service inquiries regarding the status of or activity in your account). By creating an account with Sankhalpam on the Website, you agree that all Communications from Sankhalpam relating to your use of the Website and participation in the Program may be provided or made available to you electronically by e-mail or at the Website.

7.Optional emails.  By default, you will receive the following types of emails from Sankhalpam, but you can choose not to receive these emails through a preference on the Website or in the email: Donation confirmations, Sankhalpam news, updates and messages. Sankhalpam will not disclose your email address to any third party.

8.Disclosure of non-personally identifiable data.  Sankhalpam reserves the right to disclose information that does not directly identify you, for example, aggregated or anonymized data, for educational, informational or promotional purposes in furtherance of Sankhalpam’s mission.   

9.Legal disclosures.  Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, you acknowledge, consent and agree that Sankhalpam may disclose information in order to: (a) comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) protect the rights, property and safety of Sankhalpam, Users and others, including intellectual property rights; and (c) enforce or apply our agreements and policies.

10.Links to other websites.  If you follow any links which remove you from the Website (for example, PayPal, Facebook, Twitter and any websites that use data from our API), this Privacy Policy no longer applies – i.e., the privacy policies and practices of other websites and other parties are governed by their respective terms of use and privacy policies. Please note that electronic payment processing of donations is provided by the third-party payment processing provider, PayPal.

11.Security.  Sankhalpam takes reasonable steps to maintain appropriate physical, technical and administrative security to help prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure and modification of personal information.  While we take these reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information, no system or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. 

12.Retention period.  Sankhalpam reserves the right to retain your personal information for a period of seven years or more to satisfy legal requirements such as record-keeping and tax and credit reporting requirements, as well as for purposes of fraud prevention, audit and data integrity. In addition, Sankhalpam reserves the right to indefinitely retain information that does not directly identify you, for example, aggregated or anonymized data.

13.Modifications; Interpretation.  Sankhalpam may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time and reserves the right to do so. If any changes are made, Sankhalpam will reflect the date on which any such changes are made and posted by updating the “last updated” date at the top of the page.
